Brookfield Radar Site (continued)

I started dating a local woman named Rawnie and it soon got serious. One Friday when I came back from northern Ohio and, to shorten the story, she dumped me. Looking back on it, it was the best things that ever happened to me romance wise. We really had only one thing in common and it wasn’t intellectual endeavors nor my hopes for higher education.

With about a half-year left in our tour of duty, it was decided to shut down the radar at the base in Brookfield and basically close down the base. However, our two radar sites were to continue operating. So, Ed and I found an apartment in Sharon, PA. For the last 6 months of our time in the Air Force, we continued going to our respective radar sites every week. It was just like a civilian job.
